Helicopter Traffic Reporter----Newsradio 850 KOA, Denver, CO Newsradio 850 KOA is seeking a FT traffic reporter for a one-of-a-kind position in Denver, Colorado. The perfect candidate will be an experienced on-air broadcaster who is able to clearly communicate traffic information, including alternate route information, during both morning and afternoon drive. This position includes live reporting from a vehicle and a helicopter while gathering information from several sources. The successful candidate would work a split morning and afternoon drive shift Monday through Friday, providing on-air traffic reports every ten minutes. In addition, this reporter would contribute special stories and/or features to 850KOA news, spot traffic flow information for our producers and be available to work flexible hours for breaking news. Newsgathering and navigation experience is helpful. Our ideal candidate must be able to interact with morning and afternoon hosts and become a personality on those shows. In addition, this position also includes on-air and HD camera duties for our television partners. The successful candidate must be able to operate a remote controlled gimble-mounted camera, must be able to record on-board video, and use a switcher for multiple cameras onboard the helicopter. This position requires the ability to quickly organize and ad-lib information live on air, to make excellent judgment calls in breaking news situations and to represent our organizations in a professional and public manner for this high profile position.
Certain physical requirements must be met into order to be cleared for flying in the helicopter.
